UPLB 19.09 Music Fest

FROM THE OFFICE OF THE IMSP DIRECTOR

The concert for the final judging of the seven entries for the UPLB
Centennial
Theme Song Competition is on Thursday, September 27, 2007, 7:00 p.m. at
the D.L.
Umali Hall. Dubbed "UPLB 19.09 Music Fest", the concert aims to select
a theme
song that honors UPLB's 100 years of existence. The competition aims to
feature
the musical and dance talents of UPLB faculty, research, extension and
professional staff (REPS), students, administrative staff and alumni;
and to
raise funds for the UPLB Centennial Faculty Development Fund and
student
scholarship projects.

One song entry entitled "DANTAONG DALUYAN NG KAMALAYAN" (music and
lyrics by
Prof. Alleli Domingo, Deputy Director of IMSP), will be performed by
Dr.
Vladimir Y. Mariano from ICS, and accompanied by three faculty members
from the
Mathematics Division, namely Ramon Joseph Esteves (flute), Lauro
Fontanil and
Herbert Palines (guitar), and by Ms. Lily Tallafer from SEARCA (piano).

I enjoin everyone to support this activity by buying tickets to the
concert (at
100 pesos per ticket, available at the Office of Public Relations) and
to give
support to our colleagues in this competition. In the end, we ourselves
and our
students will reap the benefits from this endeavor.

See you there!
